More about Medi-Heel

Medi-Heel Foot Peel Treatment is a cosmetic treatment designed to remove dead skin cells and calluses from the feet, leaving them soft and smooth. The treatment involves the use of a chemical solution, usually containing alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), which are applied to the feet for a period of time. These acids work by breaking down the bonds between dead skin cells, allowing them to be easily removed.
During the treatment, layers of dead skin are removed with a pumice and sterile blade by the dermal aesthetician, revealing smoother, softer skin underneath. It's important to hydrate the feet afterwards to maintain results. Additionally, an anti-fungal foot soak and light granular exfoliator can be applied to treat and reduce the risk of fungal infections.

Treatment Steps

1

CONSULTATION

The dermal aesthetician will assess the client's feet and concerns. They will then discuss the budget and set expectations.

2

Cleansing

The area to be treated is cleaned and disinfected.

3

Medi-Heel APPLICATION

The foot peel solution is applied to the client's feet. The solution is left on for a set duration.

4

DEAD CELL REMOVAL

The solution is removed with a special spatula, along with the dead skin cells. The skin is then exfoliated with a pumice stone. A sterile blade is used to scrape off the concentrated patches of callouses.

5

Neutralisation

After all dead skin cells are removed, the chemical solution is neutralised using a neutralising solution and water.

5

POST-TREATMENT

A moisturising cream and gold shimmer mist are applied to the feet to help soothe and hydrate the skin.

While the Medi-Heel Foot Peel Treatment is generally considered safe, there are some risks and potential side effects to be aware of. The chemical solution used in the treatment contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) and beta-hydroxy acids (BHAs), which can cause skin irritation, redness, and sensitivity. In some cases, the skin may also become dry and flaky, which can lead to discomfort and itching. There is also a risk of infection if the skin is exposed to bacteria or fungi during the peeling process. To minimise this risk, it's important to avoid exposing the feet to unclean surfaces or wearing open-toed shoes until the peeling process is complete. In rare cases, the treatment may also cause an allergic reaction or rash, particularly if you have sensitive skin or a known allergy to any of the ingredients in the foot peel solution.
